How Can I Tell a Friend?

If you know an individual or institution who you think would be interested in supporting Sakhi's work, please pass on our information and spread the word! Expanding our network of supporters is the only way for us to sustain and expand the impact of our work on the community - but we need your help to do this!

How Can I Celebrate and Support Sakhi at the Same Time?

Living in New York often allows for little space to store gifts.

For the next wedding, engagement, birthday, or anniversary celebration you plan, think about asking your guests to donate to Sakhi in lieu of gifts. Save yourself from clutter and support our work to end violence! This generous form of donation has been an excellent way for Sakhi to expand its giving base and gain invaluable individual support in the past.

We can help you with the wording on your invites, answer any questions you may have, and give you any information about the work we do and our organization that you feel your guests/friends/family may need before donating to Sakhi. Contact Samia Shafi, Development Associate, at samia.shafi@sakhi.org for more information.

If you are currently planning a wedding, check out this new resource to help you encourage guests to give to charity in lieu of gifts - click here.
